During the 70s and 80s, Sun Publishing's Joy Comics division teamed up with several comic artists whose work only appeared in adult magazines. Mangaka like Shoji Oki, Shiro Kasama, Yoji Muku and others were releasing full-length comics. Toshio Maeda was one such artist, with regular work showing up in many of the SM magazines. Unlike some of the aforementioned artists, Toshio Maeda was a highly successful mangaka and released several books under various publishers, not just those specializing in adult comics.
