Very first edition of Muzan-e or Bloody Ukiyo-e in 1866 & 1988 by Suehiro Maruo and Kazuichi Hanawa. Collection of original bloody ukiyoe by the likes of Tsukioka Yoshitoshi and the modern (for 1988) interpretations by two very creative Japanese illustrators. The condition should be considered very good, and there is some wear due to age and handling. Please see pics.
There was a second edition of this book that excluded the original works by Yoshitoshi, but this edition includes those bloody ukiyo-e prints.
