With a career spanning 40 years and many different genres, Kazuo Umezu (known simply as Umezz) is one of the most prolific mangaka of the 20th century. His influence is quite vast, as his work in gekiga and shojo horror inspired artists like Junji Ito, Norikazu Kawashima and many more. He had many stories first published in comic magazines, which became increasingly popular in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
