A few years before Keibunsha and Akimitsu Takagi's Japanese Tattoo Ladies book and video series began, there was Dreamy Skin Picture. This collection of tattooed ladies photographs by Shinobu Isshiki and Kai Oizumi features women of the 1980s tattooed in Japan, something not so often seen by many people. Tattooers whose work is featured in this book include Horiwaka, Bonten Taro, Horizuma, Horitoku and many more.
Some women have painted tattoo designs, but a majority of the book features real tattoos.
