As manga magazines were reaching their absolute peak during the Showa period with gekiga or more adult-oriented drama comics, a lot of second-rate publications appeared. Manga OK was one such magazine, and it not only featured comics and stories aimed at a more adult audience, it also featured nude galleries of real women and political themes.
