These special edition books were put together with high-quality covers and meant to stay on bookshelves for a lot longer than regular monthlies.

Suehiro Maruo cover. Lots of excellent illustrations, paintings and stories inside from the likes of Muhei Yamazaki, Shoji Oki, Reiko Kita and more. Most of the art is uncredited.

There are lots of these special editions of SM Mania, SM Fan, SM Secret Stories and others from the 80s and 90s with a very similar cover and interior layout.
