Southwest Wall is a comic about Mt Everest illustrated and told by Motoka Murakami. During the absolute peak (pun intended) of climbing Everest in the 70s and 80s, it only made sense that a comic would appear to compliment the love of climbing in Japan. Years later, artists like Jiro Taniguchi would try their own hand at tackling the climbing genre of comics. But Southwest Wall did it first, and it was very much an Everest fanfare.
