In the 1980s, Japanese tattooers were publishing more books with up-close photographs of their works, designs for tattoos and tools used than ever before. While tattooing was still not considered a mainstream art style, Horicho was starting to compile his life's works into books and videos to help both new tattooers learn more about traditional carving, as well as show the general public the real beauty of Japanese tattoos.
Tattoo of Horicho compiles beautiful pictures of the artist's works, bodysuit designs, every day life with tattoos and celebrations at festivals like Sanja Matsuri.
1988, hardcover with slipcase

Condition is excellent and very clean. There is one yellow water mark inside the front dust jacket of the book, but otherwise this copy shows almost no wear at all for being nearly 40 years old.
