The master of pinup, Hajime Sorayama's The Gynoids is his 1993 oversized art book with humanoid and altered women posing. The term "gynoid" is a combination of the Greek words for woman and droid (image of), an appropriate name for a book of sexy robots. These mechanical women are some of his most recognizable pinups, with one featured on the cover of Aerosmith's 2001 album "Just Push Play." The women featured here, however, are quite a bit more vivacious.
