Active throughout the Edo and Meiji periods, Kawanabe Kyōsai was a painter most known for his highly detailed and emotive animals and caricatures. This exhibition book features close-up details of his famous paintings like Bamboo Tiger and other pieces from 100 Animals. All text is in Japanese, although the paintings are very much the feature.
