Published by the Seibu Museum of Art in 1977, this special art exhibit book depicts the life of Yoshitoshi Tsukioka and some of his most memorable pieces. Considered the last great ukiyoe artist, Yoshitoshi's works show the transition of styles taking place in Japan during the late Edo period. Today, many artists from various different genres and mediums are still influenced by the bloody, emotional and realistic scenes depicted in these woodblock prints and paintings.
